Longtime friends and business partners Tiltworks of Asheville, North Carolina were honored recently in Los Angeles at the Disney Stores 2009 Global Summit. At the intensive 2 day conference they were educated in the future direction of the Disney Corporation along with hundreds of Disney representatives from around the world. During the wrap-up formal dinner they were surprised and humbled to be announced as the winner of the highly regarded “Global Vendor of the Year in Customer Service”
Bill & Debbie Hires, Tiltworks’ Managing Partners remarked,” To be recognized by Disney, who is the standard bearer for customer service and be selected from such a globally comprehensive peer group speaks to a commitment in our respective approach to our clients that we should all be very proud of.”
All of us at New Buffalo congratulate the entire Tiltworks team on a well-deserved award of recognition and are grateful for our continued relationship as your support team!
As a longtime advocate of ecologically friendly textile production, NBSF's domestic manufacturing facility completed the first phase of our 2 year mission to reduce energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions.
The project, introduced in the fourth quarter of 2009, involved a plant wide comprehensive energy audit and targeted specific measures to reduce electricity consumption. As part of our first phase, we replaced four old style rotary screw compressors with a new high- efficiency Sullair / Airtek compressed air system with the help of our longtime vendor Comairco Systems. This change results in a net savings of 300,000 kWh yearly, or the equivalent of removing 215 metric tons of harmful greenhouse gas emissions that we would generate each year. That is the equivalent of what over 25 households consume in electricity yearly.
Phase 2, expected to be complete by the second quarter of 2010 involves the replacement of over 80 inefficient high-bay lights with energy-star T-5HO fixtures and occupancy sensor technology. The new lighting, combined with the savings already realized from our more efficient compressor system will substantially reduce our dependence on coal-generated electricity sources, while providing a cleaner environment for our neighbors in the surrounding communities.
Well, he did it!! New Buffalo's Omar Viera crushed the standing record of t-shirts printed by a single operator today at the Imprinted Sportswear Show in Fort Worth, Texas!
Working with M&R's Challenger III, Omar printed 1,935 T-shirts in 60 minutes. He misprinted just 26 to set the world's record at 1,909 first-quality shirts! He broke the standing record of 1,805 set in 2005 by another NBSF employee, his sister-in-law Maddy Sikorski.
Omar produced 159 dozen plus one, perfect prints which gives him family bragging rights and proves once again that New Buffalo Shirt Factory is the fastest screen printer in the world.
We'd like to thank M&R for the opportunity to be a part of screen printing history.
Way to represent Omar!
